Processing Times

Our processing times begin with the type of product you have ordered. Everything listed for sale is, to the best of our latest knowledge and systems, available either from our in-stock location or from our supplier.

We process orders Monday to Friday and on weekends during seasonal peak times such as Christmas.

  • We begin processing within 24 hours of receiving your order.
  • On Hand stock will dispatch as soon as possible or at worst, within 1-3 days. 
  • Some titles will state dispatch between 4-7 working days on the product page. This indicates that it may be in re-stocking status and coming from a supplier. The time frame is an estimate only and very much subject to supplier efficiency.

Slow Commerce Special Orders

We have coined the term Slow Commerce and we believe in supporting customers while reducing our carbon footprint wherever possible. This means we do not keep every item on our premises and we consolidate titles with our regular (weekly) special orders.

If the product page says the item is a special order product, it will travel to you within 4-14 days. This means we are able to reduce the number of trips needed to transport goods between suppliers, warehouses and you.

Delivery times are in addition to the processing times for each title. Piper Press titles ship faster than other books, and may be processed within 1-3 days as they are on-hand.

Standard Delivery

For consumer orders on this site, our rates are shown at check out and are based on Australia Post or the best courier rates we can obtain for your location. All deliveries will have full tracking available.

In metro areas, courier partners will drop off your order at the local newsagent partner if you are not home, making it easy for you to collect. Always click on the tracking information for directions on which local newsagent your parcel is waiting at. We use couriers in metro areas as they are generally faster than AusPost to certain areas. PO Box deliveries are accepted but may travel more slowly by AusPost.

Please note, we ship in sturdy book packaging to avoid damage to your delivery. This adds a small amount of weight to your shipment, but we believe in protecting your purchase and we avoid using parcel satchels on their own.

If you are overseas but delivering to an Australian address, the rates shown will relate to the delivery address you have entered.

For wholesale and educational orders, your delivery rate and timeframe will be quoted upon order confirmation and invoice.

Free Shipping

Books are heavy and need care during delivery. We offer Free Shipping on orders over $200. Thank you for supporting a non-billionaire publisher and bookseller!

Delivery Times

For Australian deliveries -

  • Metro NSW, VIC, QLD deliveries take 1-3 days
  • Regional  NSW, VIC, QLD deliveries take 3-7 days
  • All other States and Territories require 3-7 days

Delivery times are estimates only and subject to Australia Post, couriers and their partners. They do not include handling and processing times.

For International deliveries -

  • EU and Asia deliveries require 3-10 days depending on the Fedex or AusPost service chosen at checkout

We are unable to offer Express orders but keep an eye on this page for updates.

Please note: As at August 26, 2025 Due to USA tariffs requiring prepayment of tariffs upon export, and due to Australia Post restrictions now applied, we unfortunately cannot deliver to the USA.

International Orders

We ship Australia-wide and Internationally to over 100 countries with Fedex or Australia Post, as long as those locations do not have delivery restrictions. Available shipping will be shown at checkout.

We do not collect duties and taxes on your behalf. Please ensure you are within the limits and rules of your country to ensure smooth delivery or customs and tax payment upon arrival.
