Judith Neilson launches Half the Sky

Last night Judith Neilson, Founder of White Rabbit Gallery, introduced Luise Guest’s Half the Sky: Women Artists in China to a large group of friends, family and colleagues.

Author Luise Guest is an art educator, independent writer and researcher based in Sydney. Since 2010 her writing about Chinese art has been published in print and online journals including The Journal of Chinese Contemporary Art, Art Monthly Australasia, Artist Profile, Randian, Yishu Journal, CoBO Social, Nü Voices and The Art Life. Luise's PhD research examines intersections of gender and national identity in the work of contemporary women artists in/from China. 

The public launch was held on March 6 at Kinokuniya.

Between 2015 and 2020, Luise was Manager of White Rabbit's Research division, responsible for researching the collection, writing texts, developing website content, and 'search the collection' browser capacity, writing social media content for the collection, establishing a research library and the Judith Neilson/White Rabbit Collection Archive.
