Dancing in Time
Time, as an element in dance can be thought of as the measure of WHEN the body is moving. It refers to the way movements are performed to a beat or rhythm and the speed and duration of movements. Time can also define the relationship of movements to each other and the overall structure of the dance work. The text, Dancing in time provides content and activities for dance students, to support and supplement classroom teaching. The focus of the book is on the elements of TIME and DYNAMICS and how they can be used in performing, composing and analysing dance.
Dancing in Time reached the shortlist in judging the best secondary textbook of the year by the Australian Publishers Association and the University of Sydney's Teaching Resources and Textbooks Research Unit.
